An Illuminating Wine Tasting Feat. Paitin Winery

Ciao, friends!

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar invites guests to experience the next Taste and Learn, taking place Saturday, March 28 at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting dinner that provides illuminating wine education along with expertly prepared, authentic Italian small plates prepared by Executive Chef Francesco DiCaudo.

Each Taste & Learn offers a tour through some of Italy’s most intriguing wineries. March’s event spotlights Paitin from Piedmont, Italy. The Paitin winery, owned by the Pasquero-Elia family, was established in 1796 when Benedetto Elia purchased the farmhouse, wine cellar and surrounding vineyards from Luigi Pelissero, but the location’s wine-producing roots date as far back as the eleventh century. Paitin is known for its old vine parcel of Sori Paitin within the Serraboella cru; Serraboella represents one of the more structured crus in Barbaresco, like Montestefano or Albeisa.

As always, Ferraro’s award-winning chef will prepare imaginative dishes to accompany each wine.

The full menu follows:

Vermentino Argiolas Costamolino 2018
Gambero e Ricotta
Mediterranean prawn, sheep’s milk ricotta, stone fruit

Paitin Nebbiolo Ca Veja, 2016
Bagna Cauda

As a reminder, if you’ve not attended Taste & Learn before or if you’re a regular who never misses a month, here are a few tips to ensure you enjoy the best experience possible:

  • Taste & Learn is an educational presentation as well as an excellent food and wine experience. We want everyone to enjoy everything about the evening, so please be courteous and attentive while our presenters are speaking.
  • Both the wine merchant and our Chef will say a few words at each course. Please refrain from tasting the wine or the dish until they have each spoken.
  • Due to the ongoing popularity of our events, we have implemented assigned seating to ensure all parties attending together may sit together.

Tickets for the all-inclusive experience are $75 and space is limited. To make reservations, please call (702) 364-5300.  Make your reservations today.
