It’s a New Year and I am delighted to tell you about this month’s all-inclusive, exquisite tasting we will be hosting at Ferraro’s on Jan. 26 at 5 p.m.

As always, Chef Francesco will prepare some outstanding menu items, which will be paired with wines from the Malvira winery, located in the heart of Piedmont’s prestigious Roero wine country. This family-owned operation is run today by Massimo and Roberto Damonte, sons of Malvira’s founder, Giuseppe Damonte. Meanwhile, the brothers’ wives, Federica and Patrizia, run a 13-room luxury hotel and restaurant on the grounds.  Talk about La Dolce Vita!

On this evening, you’ll have the pleasure of trying four distinctive courses. Our full menu follows:

  • Roero, Arneis, 2017, paired with Polipo e Scarola (octopus, escarole, bufala mozzarella)
  • Barbera d’Alba, San Michele, 2014, Tagliatelle alla Cavour (homemade tagliatelle, lentil, veal sweetbread ragout)
  • Roero Nebbiolo, 2015, Anatra (spiced duck breast and quince)
  • “Birbet” Brachetto Lungo, NV, Bonet (Piedmont classic winter chocolate dessert)
