Buon Giorno!

I’m pleased to announce our next Taste & Learn event, which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. (note the new time) on Saturday, June 25. On this evening, prepare to travel to different regions of Italy, courtesy of the unique and inspired wine selections of Mr. Neal Rosenthal.

Mr. Rosenthal only imports wines from Italy that are made in the traditional Italian winemaking manner. That means, absolutely no French casks are used in the winemaking process—as you know, I’ve been preaching against the use of French oak for years, so you know Mr. Rosenthal and I get along *very* well.

We will be tasting wines from small regions and boutique wineries specializing in truly one-of-a-kind varietals.

Our first white wine will be Erbaluce di Caluso, La Torrazza, Luigi Ferrando, 2013 paired with Fiore di Zucca Ripiena – zucchini blossoms, Mediterranean amberjack and summer salad.

Our second wine (red) will be Don Giuva, Ciro’ Classico Superiore, Du Cropio, 2012 accompanied by Crositini Calabrese – grilled bread, nduja, pecorino and cannellini beans.

The third wine will be Torrette Superiore, Grosjean Freres, 2009 paired with risotto valdostana – fontina cheese risotto, duck prosciutto and dandelion gel.

Finally, our star of the night will be Montefalco Rosso Reserva, Vigna Pipparello, Paolo Bea, 2009 paired with Quaglia Arrosto – seared quail, celery root mousseline and lavender and cherry sauce.

For only $65 per person, this evening promises to be a truly extraordinary occasion for wine lovers. Please reserve your place early. I look forward to seeing you soon!
